Ross Fine Art
Trudie Mooney was born in Brighton in 1961. She did a four year degree in Fine Art at Brighton College of Art and Design graduating in 1983. She then did a post - graduate certificate in Middlesex.
In 1985, Mooney moved to Spain where she lived and worked until 1992.
Her next move was to Ramelton in Donegal . Mooney’s studio is set in the heart of this beautiful countryside and it is here that she finds the inspiration and tranquillity to work. A highly disciplined painter, she is continually pushing the boundaries, setting new challenges in her quest to develop her art.
Trudie Mooney’s still life paintings are certainly receiving the recognition they deserve. With a growing number of group and solo exhibitions under her belt, Mooney is well represented in public, private and corporate collections. She has been in the stable of the Solomon Gallery in Dublin since 1998 and has exhibited at the Royal Ulster Academy for five consecutive years .
Art critic for the Times, Aidan Dunne, describes her work as “ terrifically accomplished “ in a review he did of one of her Dublin shows.
There is an intrinsic sense of serenity and composure in these meticulously worked paintings…truly a pleasure to behold.
Janet Ross from Ross Fine Art said Mooney continues to be one of her most sought after artists.
“ Her work appeals to an array of artistic tastes, from the more traditional to those who generally prefer abstract work. It is also quite unusual to see how her paintings hang beautifully in such a wide variety of surroundings from ultra modern minimalist interiors to the more conventional and classical.”
